Blind Beginnings Society

In 2024 Blind Beginnings continued to offer programs workshops counselling and support groups for children and youth who are blind or partially sighted in BC and their families. Our programs are delivered virtually and in person. We ran our in person summer camp for children teens and their parents/guardians and siblings We ran our virtual Creating Confidence workshop series and an in person LIFT (Life Skills Instructions for Teens) We continued our Community Discovery program in the Lower Mainland and Interior of BC and on Vancouver Island. We ran our Youth Leadership & Pre-employment program for teens in person over a 3 day weekend as well as continuing the monthly virtual component. We also continued to offer individual counselling and support groups for kids teens and parents - all which was done virtually in 2024. We held a family retreat We were awarded a Ministry of Children and Family Development Service Contract on April 1 2024 to provide Early Intervention Services for children aged birth to 5 and their parents across BC.
