1. Go By Bike Weeks (GBBW)- is a behaviour change campaign. Its purpose is to raise the profile of cycling and to expand the use of the bicycle. The central organizing principal is to get people involved through team building in the workplace or at home. This event also includes Bike to School Week for school aged children 2. City of Victoria Bike Valet - Free secure bike parking for the residents and tourists in Victoria 3. The Locker - Free bike parking for people attending events around the Capital Regional District (greater Victoria area) to reduce car usage 4. Everybody Rides Grade 4/5 - teaching school children bike safety and bike skills. Making confident riders capable of navigating city streets 5. Commuter Challenge - a fun race of bike rider versus drivers that uses media and spectacle to spread knowledge and dispel myths about cycling to work. By engaging high-profile individuals from a broad range of backgrounds and placing them in a fun challenge we capture harness people’s competitive spirit and set their imaginations alight with the prospect of who will win the challenge. Foster dialogue about the myths and possibilities of different modes of transportation showing that cycling is a very practical sustainable mode of transportation 6. Bike Smart - improve skills safety and to promote cooperation among all road users Capital Bike organizes bike skills courses and workshops. This education program stream has evolved over the years from a few workplace workshops in the lead-up to GBBW to a full suite of courses offered March through November. 7. Nation Day for Truth and Reconciliation Ride - We turn riding a bike into a whole new way to approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to educate and raise awareness about reconciliation and decolonization and to foster dialogue understanding and respect for the First Nations people whose land we live on. 8. Resource Centre - critical piece of how we fulfil our mission and mandates.
