The toronto kiwanis boys and girls clubs (the club) is a member organization of boys and girls clubs of canada. Founded in 1921 by the kiwanis club of toronto the clubs have been providing a safe place for after-school evening and school break programs. The clubs serve 1 100 children and youth in the regent park cabbagetown and trinity bellwoods communities annually. With a rich 100 year history the club has helped more than 100 000 children discover develop and achieve their potential by providing a continuum of after-school and evening programs and services for children and youth aged 6 through 24. The club a united way member agency is a leading non-profit provider of programs that support the healthy physical educational and social development of children and youth living in the inner-city. 69% of the clubs' families live below the poverty line. No child or family is refused service based on their ability to pay. Toronto kiwanis boys and girls clubs has taken over after-school and summer programs at the cabbagetown youth centre and expanded services into the st. Jamestown community. Toronto kiwanis boys and girls clubs are working with regen park social development program specifically partnering on the youth empowering youth program.
