Battle of Britain Memorial Fund

1. The charity was established after the Second World War to honour and commemorate the brave allied airmen who fought in the Battle of Britain and the other epic air battles of the war's theatres. A major activity of the charity is the annual Battle of Britain Memorial Ceremony and Parade held in the Air Forces' Garden of Remembrance in Stanley Park. This event includes veterans military representatives politicians dignitaries and members of the public. The charity provides funds to ensure the continuation and enhancement of the Battle of Britain Memorial Ceremony and Parade. 2.A related purpose of the charity is to educate and increase awareness of the importance of Canada's Armed Forces by showcasing military bands Air Cadet Squadrons Navy facilities and by honouring their illustrious history and present importance to safeguarding our democracy.
