Forecasts: Delivery of daily avalanche forecasts November 23 – April 28 for mountainous regions of western Canada. Twice-weekly forecasts for Newfoundland’s Long Range Mountains for 10 weeks January - March. Training: Administration of nationally recognized recreational Avalanche Canada Training program: nearly 11 000 students last year. Outreach: 11 Webinars: 3 000 viewers. Delivered or supported ~35 in-person events. Youth education: Deliver winter safety and avalanche awareness programs to nearly 11 000 K – 12 students. Research: Provide funding to and collaborate with Simon Fraser University’s avalanche research program. Website and social media: 6.1 million page views on our website 33K Facebook followers 53K Instagram followers 43K app users. Mountain Information Network: Free online platform for users to share backcountry observations; 3 300 posts over 100K views. Avalanche terrain mapping: Mapping select regions using a scale that measures exposure to avalanche terrain. Provincial partnerships: Support Avalanche Quebec to deliver forecasts and services in French. Bilingual products: Deliver online education youth programs monthly newsletters special public avalanche warnings and annual report in both official languages. AvCan Podcast: produced nine podcasts on avalanche topics. Forecast for Haines Pass Yukon: In collaboration with the Haines Avalanche Center in AK transitioned pilot project into regular forecast product for this popular area for users from Whitehorse. Ice Climbing Atlas: now provides information on avalanche terrain and avalanche history for 24 popular ice climbs in the Rocky Mountains. In year 2 of 3 of SAR NIF grant to develop avalanche fatality database.
