Association for Bright Children of Ontario/Societe Pour Enfants Doues Et Surdoues D'Ontario

The association for bright children of ontario ('abc') is an all-volunteer provincially incorporated registered charity supporting the interests of bright and gifted students throughout ontario. Our goal is to improve the learning environment and educational outcomes for bright and gifted students. Abc works with volunteers parents and stakeholders to carry out its objectives: - to provide information and educational programs to help meet the needs of bright and gifted children and their parents. - to help parents teachers and educators understand the special needs of bright and gifted children. - to co-operate with provincial regional and local agencies in the development of supports and enrichment programs for bright and gifted children. Abc volunteers organize publicize and provide educational and social activities for children. We provide information sessions meetings seminars and conferences for parents and educators. Abc offers a peer-to-peer parental support and advice network via internet phone and face-to-face forums. Chapters may host events for parents and run programs for children.
