The arts inter-media canada/dance collection danse ('the organization') operates as a registered charity whose mission is to develop and make publicly available archival materials pertaining to the history of dance in canada. The organization collects and catalogues written materials articles costumes musical scores and dance choreography spanning over a century of dane history. The organization also publishes and distributes educational material books and periodical related to the history and development of dance in canadian context. Ongoing activities – preservation research animation education and publication emanate for our expensive collection of dance-related materials dating from the late 19th century to current day. Artists and organizations across the country have entrusted their historical archives to the organization so that worldwide and for all time canadian dance history can be uncovered understood and celebrated.
