The archives association of british columbia (aabc) supports archives records professionals and all those with an interest in documentary heritage in british columbia. The aabc assists the community through education and professional development advisory services and through the maintenance of the provincial database memorybc. The aabc has two main ongoing programs: 1. Bc archival education and advisory services: a professional archivist offers advice distance education courses workshops and site visits to archives and individuals in b.c. Including basic education in the management of archival materials and archives themselves. 2. Bc archival netowrk services is responsible for the development and maintenance of the aabc website and publicly accessible database of archival records held by archives throughout the province. The aabc provides information of a general nature to members and other interested parties regarding archives and best practices sponsors an annual conference and supports students in archival studies.
