Antigonish Culture Alive Association

ACA's primary cultural event is the annual after-dark arts festival Antigonight: Art After Dark. This festival runs over two weeks and showcases local and Maritime-based artists in exhibitions artist talks and workshops. Additionally several promotional weekly events occur throughout the summer for families children and youth to engage the community in artist-led activities. ACA administers the Antigonish Public Art Program on behalf of the Town of Antigonish. The program is an annual juried competition for an artist or artist collective to produce a work for a public space in Antigonish. ACA provides financial support for the Antigonish Performing Arts series of concerts. ACA provides financial support for the Antigonish Art Fair an association that holds a bi-weekly outdoor exhibition of works by local artists during the summer and delivers art making programs at the Antigonish Arts House. ACA's 'Vision for the Arts Committee' facilitates community engagement in the conception and design of and raises funds for the development of a performing arts centre for Antigonish.
