Anne and max tanenbaum community hebrew academy of toronto ('tanenbaumchat' or 'academy') offers an exceptional secondary school education guided by jewish values. Tanenbaumchat welcomes students from jewish day schools as well as from many public and independent schools. When they graduate tanenbaumchat students are well-equipped for their transition to university college or whatever path they wish to follow. In addition to offering a full range of credit courses leading to an ontario secondary school diploma (ossd) tanenbaumchat also offers an extensive roster of extracurriculars with more than 100 clubs and committees. The tanenbaumchat athletics department fields as many as 26 sports teams that play across three athletic seasons (fall winter and spring). The academy competes in the toronto district catholic athletic association (tdcaa) often qualifying to compete in the ontario federation of school athletic associations (ofsaa) championships. Community service is anorther core component of a tanenbaumchat education. Going beyond the basic ministry of education's community service requirement of 18 hours over 4 years all our students must volunteer a minimum of 18 hours each year of high school which collectively totals approximately 27 000 hours of service annually.
