Ananda Marga Canada

Regular Dharma Cakra (Ananda Marga group meditation) continued in family homes across the Greater Toronto Area. Dada Dayashiilananda (Yao Daniel Konan) continued offering free Ananda Marga yoga and meditation classes at a university in Ottawa while Dada Parinirvanananda (Pramod Kumar Biswas) continued organizing free Ananda Marga philosophy classes in Toronto. Food distribution in downtown Toronto remained ongoing. During the summer visitors came to Ananda Kanak the monastic residence in Saint-André-Avellin Quebec (323 Rang Saint Louis). Dada Shiilabhadranananda (Mark Devine) facilitated Ananda Marga classes and community activities in Vancouver British Columbia and Calgary Alberta. Three weekly online Dharma Cakra sessions were initiated on four days of the week allowing participants across Canada to participate flexibly without location barriers. Two beginner Ananda Marga retreats were organized in the spring and summer of 2024—one at the Ananda Marga Master Unit in Quebec and one at a rented facility near Toronto—with around 40 attendees in total. Two additional Ananda Marga retreats were also held in Quebec and Bradford Ontario. Young Ananda Margiis organized an online Satsaunga and study group every Thursday evening. Legal Update The legal case between Ananda Marga Canada and Jane Cardwell continued. To cover associated legal costs AMC secured a loan from Ananda Marga Inc. (USA). Efforts toward a settlement are ongoing and a court date has been scheduled for December 2025.
