Amazon Rainforest Conservancy

The conservancy's purpose is to purchase threatened tropical rainforest habitats in peru in order to assist in the preservation and conservation of endangered flora and fauna species for the benefit of future generations. Amazon rainforest conservancy (arc) has two peruvian non-profit sister organizations: amazon rainforest conservancy (parc). Together we protect conserve and restore the threatened biodiversity of tropical rainforest habitats in the peruvian amazon through the following projects: 1) protecting a biodiversity hotspot 2) creating a wildlife corridor and 3) saving rainforests through education (the earth project). The purpose of the protecting a biodiversity hotspot project is to protect the endangered wildlife and tree species that live on the land cared for by parc. The purpose of the creating a wildlife corridor project is to create a wildlife corridor in the valley between the two mountain ranges of the cordillera escalara regional conservation area. A main focus of this project is to protect the region's jaguars which are under threat from habitat loss and conflicts with humans. Earth stands for environment activities & rainforest teaching hub. The purpose of the earth project is to teach people about the natural world through fun stories videos and activities with hope of inspiring a greater appreciation of the environment and encourage the passion needed to save it.
