The purposes of the corporation are to conserve and protect the environment for the benefit of the public by: 1. Acquiring land in frontenac lennox and addington hastings leeds and greenville and lanark counties in ontario for conservation and restoration of biodiversity and protection of ecological systems; 2. Providing environmental stewardship according to indigenous ecological knowledges conservation best practices and the best available research-based evidence; 3. Educating and increasing the public's understanding of land biodiversity and the imortance thereof by providing education programs events seminars lectures meetings conferences land-based education training and by collecting and distributung information consistant with such purposes; 4. Conducting research relating to the environment and environmental stewardship and to disseminate the results of such research; and 5. Re-establishing and strengthening relationships among humans plants animals and all living beings in the natural environment by acquiring land and engaging in environmental stewardship and indigenous cultural practices consistant with conservation and protection.
