Alexandra Park Neighbourhood Learning Centre of Toronto

Ongoing programs for fiscal year 2023-24 included delivery of the literacy and basic skills program funded by the ministry of labour immigration training and skills development. Programming included small group classes facilitated by instructors for adutls 18+ who have experienced barriers to employment and education; one-to-one tutoring delivered by trained volunteer tutors and supported by a designated staff person; and information and referral services. New programs for fiscal year 2023-24 included the pathways to wellbeing project funded by the community services recovery fund (csrf). Through this project apnlc developed a health and wellbeing service delivery framework that is responsive to the lived experiences of community members participants and staff. Another new program in 2023-24 was our tech talk digital literacy program for older adults a digital literacy program funded by td bank. In 2023-24 we also recieved additional funding from the ministry of labour immigration training and skills development to deliver two pilots through their skills for success for underrepresented groups initiative.
