Alms specializes in designing and delivering citizen science/community based monitoring programs for improving of our understanding of lakes reservoirs and their watersheds. Lakewatch: participatory monitoring program allows members of the public to track the long term health of their lake. Lakekeepers:training and equipping albertans to independently monitor the health of their favourite waterbody in the summer and winter months. Rec water: assessing public beach areas for public health targets including cyanobacteria and enterococcus. Satellite validation: developing an online tool to measure and track cyanobacteria blooms on major recreational lakes using satellite imagery.
