Akonua and Kwama Children's Literacy Foundation

The foundation supports literacy in africa by distributing scholarships and educational materials to children in mankkessim ghana. To date numerous scholarships have been donated as well as computers supplied and computer workshops established. The foundation has also purchased 0.86 acres of land and is actively raising funds to build a library for the school and the community. Initial schematics for the library have been produced. Due to the impact of covid-19 little progress was made in terms of fundraising. However digital booklets were purchased in late 2020. The actual delivery of these booklets was made in 2021 to the calvary preparatory school in mankkessim for early childhood development. In 2022 scholarships totaling $2 400.00 (cdn) were made to students to assist with theur education and to make up for shortfalls due to covid -19 in 2023 another $2 400.00 was donated in a new round of scholarship. In 2024 the foundation donated $1 800.00 in scholarships to students.
