ADRA is the global humanitarian agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Globally the ADRA network provides assistance to individuals in over 120 countries regardless of their ethnicity religion or political affiliation. ADRA Canada improves the lives of hundreds of thousands of people each year through our efforts to relieve poverty by providing food clothing shelter and other basic supplies to persons in need; to improve skills and practices in forestry husbandry agriculture and horticulture in underdeveloped and developing countries; to improve the quality of drinking water in undeveloped and developing countries; to provide education and literacy programs in order to offer education vocational training and life skills training to the public; to improve maternal and child health in undeveloped and developing countries; to establish operate and provide microfinance programs and services to financially disadvantaged persons and communities in order to economically enhance communities and displaced people and persons in need in order to alleviate human suffering.
