Alacd is dedicated to the wellness of persons with disability through sport physical activity and recreation. We serve people of all disabilities (sensory intellectual mobility and mental health( all ages and in all regions of canada. Over the past year we have focused our efforts on the following projects and initiatives; -updating our website and communications to alacd members. -youth program - understanding the barriers that youth with disabilities experience in being active. -actively advise non-disability organizations to remind them of the need to include people of all abilities in sport and recreation. -develop a municipal decision makers program so that any programs are developed with people with a a disability in mind. -advise organizations on disability issues and needs -participate in discussions with all levels of government about the importance or persons with a disability re; being active.
