About Académie de danse folklorique l'Aigle Blanc

We continued our usual weekly rehearsal routine and increased performance enabling us to showcase and promote the charity. Several new members joined the charity after seeing the ensemble perform. We have kept up our memberships in folklore associations and have maintained and grown our network. In January 2024 we merged the Podhale Folk Dance Company (BN86381 92772 RR 0001) who wound up their operations into our charity and acquired all of their assets. We obtained an agreement with the Southwest burrough of Montreal for storage facilities to house our costume inventory and space to expand our services for youth and children. The adult group has become known as the 'Representative Group' of the academy and we began a group for adolescents called the 'Podhale Youth Group' in January 2024 with enrollment from the community. Weekly rehearsals are given for both groups and fund-raising events and show participation involve all members. In September 2024 a children's group called 'Syrenka' will begin for children aged 6 to 12 and they will rehearse weekly. We have submitted our application to the City of Montreal to join their program for underprivileged families offering space to children to join the classes for free. We have also collaborated with the city to offer an initial 3-hour workshop for the general public to gage the interest for a potential weekly workshop in the future. A complete inventory of all assets used for charitable purposes will be conducted and a database and asset control software established to keep track of all the costumes. Over the next few years many of the older costumes will be repaired and given a new life. We have applied to a program offered by the Government of Poland for Polish groups abroad funding of new costumes. New instructors to teach the younger groups are being trained on a volunteer basis from the adult group .
