YAC s purpose is to support and advocate for young people by empowering them with services and resources and encouraging positive systemic change across Queensland. Our programs achieved this purpose by: 1. Providing legal representation, support and advice to young people in the youth justice system and facing legal challenges; 2. Supporting young people to find and maintain suitable housing; 3. Providing bail support and social welfare support for atrisk and vulnerable young people, including when held in adult watchhouses and youth detention centres; 4. Supporting young people and their families who are struggling with connection; 5. Advocating in the community and with the various levels of government regarding children s rights.
