Young Crisis Accommodation Centre

In the 2023/2024 financial year, YCAC have made significant strides in fulfilling its mission to provide specialist homelessness services and support to victimsurvivors of domestic and family violence. Through a combination of immediate crisis support, refuge accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic violence, longterm housing solutions, advocacy, and community partnerships. YCAC provided tailored case management support for all people, families, and youth facing homelessness due to domestic violence, eviction, or other crises. This would include prevention of homelessness through saving tenancies, shortterm crisis accommodation and longerterm transitional housing, ensuring safe spaces for those in immediate need. YCAC collaborates with a variety of external government and nongovernment agencies and provide referrals for disability support, financial counselling, legal aid, mental health support, drug and alcohol counselling, child protection services and domestic and family violence counselling. YCAC provided domestic and family violence prevention strategies through the delivery of the lovebites program and by hosting domestic and family violence awareness days. YCAC works with a trauma informed service delivery, always led by client choice.
