About Yoruba Language School Australia LTD
Educational programs were delivered during school terms to Yoruba born children and others interested in the language and culture. The story of the Old woman was a drama presentation at University of Melbourn by the Yoruba Language School students this year during the African studies Group Annual Conference. It was an opportunity for our students to experience University learning system. We were able to advance cultural knowledge by taking part in the panel discussion and thoughtprovoking debates on African Agency in a changing world. Students also learn about where water comes from through Central Gippsland Regional Water Corporation. Some of our students also had a day trip to Mount Buller this year. Yoruba Language School is partnering with Nigerians in Gippsland to present a community engagement event to get to know people and our school in Gippsland. This year we have concentrated on getting people to know our school and we getting to know them. Our teachers have attended trainings and education sessions this year to ensure we are measuring well with other similar schools. We have also collaborated with elders, students and other language school principals on programs and useful activities to advance cultural knowledge and in line with ChildSafe legislations
