WynBay LLEN advocated, brokered partnerships and lobbied for thousands of disadvantaged, underprivileged including young people with learning or intellectual disabilities in Wyndham and Hobsons Bay LGA s to gains the skills and training for employment or to complete their school education. 1200 students each year participated in our VET training in schools programs. Hundred of students from a refugee backgrounds were fed breakfast and coached in accelerated and remedial programs in Wyndham. Students with disabilities were coached in work related skills and specially assisted courses in Hospitality. WynBay LLEN also directly worked with schools and parents in engagement programs aimed at building their capacity to supports their students in need complete education or make a successful transition to further education and training. We also provided direct scholarships worth $500 or $1000 for students studying VET in need of financial assistance. As part of our healthy lives program we provided nutrition advice and cooking classes to families with young people coping with high rates of diabetes and other chronic conditions. WynBay LLEN also provides transportation to hundreds of students to get to various schools offering VET programs as part of our 2 VET in schools clusters.
