Woolgoolga Surf Life Saving Club Inc.

Woolgoolga Surf Life Saving Club (WSLSC) is established for charitable purposes that benefit the community and advance education through the provision of water safety training and lifesaving services. Its primary purpose is to relieve distress in aquatic environments in other words, to save lives. WSLSC is a volunteerbased, community service organisation dedicated to surf lifesaving. All income received by the Club is applied solely to furthering its charitable purposes. No financial or other benefits are distributed to members. The Club operates as part of a broader regional, state, and national surf lifesaving network. Surf Life Saving in New South Wales is recognised as an Emergency Service under the State Emergency and Rescue Management Act 1989 (NSW) (SERM Act). All of the Club s objects are designed to comply with the Australian Charities and Notforprofits Commission (ACNC) Governance Standards and to support its principal charitable aims. These objectives provide the foundation for sound governance and guide the Club s operations within the wider surf lifesaving and emergency services framework in New South Wales. The Club s constitution includes objects and provisions that establish a clear fiduciary framework. Members are expected to act in alignment with the Club s charitable purpose and in the best interests of the community specifically, the people of Woolgoolga and visitors to Woolgoolga Beach and surrounding areas.
