WHNSW is the peak body for 21 nongovernment community based Women's Health Centres and special purpose services in NSW all of whom are charities in their own rights. WHNSW works to support and capacity build services through training programs, mentoring, shared resources and knowledge through networking and program development. WHNSW prioritized preventing violence against women working with government and community to enhance health safety and well being outcomes for women WHNSW works with other peak bodies , government policy makers and educators to advocate for improved policy & practice and health care access for women and particularly women of low socioeconomic status, women with disability, culturally diverse and Aboriginal women WHNSW is proactive on priority issues relevant to women's health advocating for improved health outcomes in gender and culturally safe, trauma informed, accessible services
