* We rescued 1205 Battery egg laying hens before they are culled due to no longer being commercially viable * We rescued 11 dumped roosters & found them good homes We adopted 1071 of these battery hens to forever homes, where they will be looked after for their natural life, egg or no egg * We took in 34 of the rescued battery hens, into our Hen Hospital where we treated them. When well they moved to our Hen Retirement Village or if not, they were helped with pain relief until they passed * We provided weekly education and support information social media posts to our community so hens can live as healthy and happy a life as possible * We took approximately 150calls in this year, assisting hen owners with issues with sick chooks.
