This year we brought the community together for arts and cultural events, activities and projects. Examples include: Kurilpa Derby with 2,000 participants, 80 performers, 30 volunteers, and our First Nations led project Breaking Boundaries which seeks to use arts and culture as a mechanism is First Nations conversations and reclamation of space. These spaces involve Musgrave Park, The Kurilpa Kiosk and have resulted in artistic outcomes such as street murals and creative lighting produced by First Nations local artists. We also collected and amplified our community's voice on the issues that impact our community. Examples include: Local and state candidates forum/interviews and keeping our community informed about local issues, events, and initiatives through Facebook, Instagram and regular enewsletters to our membership. We also strengthened our urban community through projects and initiatives that improve safety, sustainability and liveability: Examples include: Resilient Kurilpa with over 14 community workshops and information sessions, flood resilience trigger film and as well as advocacy on sustainable development and access to public spaces.
