West Coast Maremma and Livestock Guardian Rescue Incorporated

We operated a breed specific dog rescue in Western Australia providing safe refuge for Maremma Sheepdogs in need or at risk of euthanasia. Sanctuary was given to dogs who were surrendered by the public, mostly due to behavioural issues in their current environment and collaborated with Pounds and other Rescues taking into care Maremma at risk of euthanasia. We completed necessary veterinary work including sterilisations , vaccinations, xrays, bloodwork, dentals and surgeries. We provided a specialised rehabilitation programme in a rural farm environment and rehomed dogs to homes that would meet the dogs needs. We mentored Adoptive families to ensure a successful rehoming and educated on the responsible breeding, purchasing and ownership of Livestock Guardian Dog breeds (LGD). We were a resource to the general public on breed traits, suitable environments and training of LGD's.
