Watergum Community Inc

We engaged thousands of community members of all ages in meaningful, handson environmental work to restore, preserve and protect the natural environment. Through our citizen science programs, we educated and upskilled community members to monitor and gather valuable data on platypus, turtles and water quality. Our restoration, revegetation and research projects helped to revitalise habitat and restore extensive areas of degraded land. Our efforts to combat invasive species included the national Cane Toad Challenge program which ethically removed tens of thousands of cane toads and tadpoles from the environment. We continued to provide valuable support and expertise to smaller groups to assist their landcare activities.
