Warrandyte Arts & Education Trust

In 2024, the Warrandyte Arts & Education Trust maintained its production of community newspapers Warrandyte Diary and Manningham & Nillumbik Bulletin which both featured news and feature articles promoting young artists and primary and secondary education news and events. Profits raised from both publications in the last financial year will be used in forthcoming awards: Cliffy Short Story Writing Competition Warrandyte Youth Arts Awards The Cliffy Short Story competition is a celebration of local creative writing, in honour of the Warrandyte Diary founder Cliff Green and will includes a prize pool of $800 across Primary aged, Secondary aged and an Open Category for 17+. The theme is heritage and the winners will be printed in the Warrandyte Diary. The Trust, via Warrandyte Diary and M&N Bulletin continues to support youth with an interest in arts and journalism and has welcomed back teenage cartoonist Karolina Larbey who is providing her take on the world each month via her Artscape cartoon. The Trust continues to offers two junior reporter position to those studying with an interest in journalism to learn skills, on the job, mentored by the newspaper editors.
