Our purpose of advancing volunteering for Queensland s economic, social, cultural, and environmental wellbeing is successfully achieved through a variety of activities as outlined in our Annual Report, including : Supporting the Queensland volunteering sector to navigate the impacts of pandemics and natural disasters through resources, training, research, information sharing, advice and specialist programs. Delivering projects and managing grants to volunteer organisations on behalf of the Commonwealth Government to support sector capacity building and reduce barriers to volunteering for people with disability, First Nations people, new arrivals to Australia. Delivering Care Army initiatives to build placebased capability and participation through volunteering. Enhancing community resilience through identifying and strengthening local capability to engage and manage spontaneous disaster volunteers in local governments. Managing our EV CREW service and its capacity to support a coordinated response to register, manage and deploy spontaneous volunteers at a local, state and national level across all phases of disasters. Undertaking and providing evidencebased research to identify challenges, trends, opportunities and successes and inspire solutions to ensure the future status of volunteering. Maintaining and developing our statewide volunteer referral service, to connect potential and existing volunteers with volunteer organisations in need of volunteers to help them maximise the impact of their volunteer programs. Supporting placebased volunteer organisations to build capacity and capability to serve their local communities. Developing and maintaining our digital presence and platforms that are inclusive, accessible and support the work and digital capability of volunteer organisations and volunteers. Collaborating with all levels of government, other state and national peak bodies, and educational, business and community groups to inform policy and deliver vital services that connect and strengthen communities in the face of disadvantage, uncertainty, disasters, and social and economic trends. Delivering educational, training and development services that engage and build pathways to inclusion, participation, and employment for volunteers and grow the volunteering sector enabling it to deliver critical services to those in need. Engaging businesses and their employees interested in giving back through volunteering and connecting them to volunteer organisations in need of help. Presenting recognition events, conferences, forums, and award programs that promote, advance, acknowledge, and recognise volunteers and volunteering as powerful, valuable, and vital contributors to Queensland s economic, social, cultural, and environmental wellbeing. Advocating and representing the voice, contribution, needs, and impact of volunteering in Queensland.
