VHI raised funds for a teacher's salary and materials for pupils at a primary school managed by Father Simon Khurshid praish priest in Faisalabad Pakistan, Attending the school gives the pupils a better start whenthey seek employment as they have basic literacy and maths skills. VHI also raised funds for a instructor's salary and materials for a sewing school also organised by Fr Simon Khurshid. Six of the sewing students graduated and two have found employment in the local textile industry. We provided eacgh of the graduates with a sewing machine so they can be self employed. We made monthly contributions to the Smith Family's Sponsor an Australian Child programme.
