About Triple Zero Open Mats

Annual Report 2024 Triple Zero Open Mats does not operate a traditional website, instead it is primarily operated out of the popular social media platform Instagram using the handle @TRIPLE_ZERO_OPEN_MAT Tripe Zero Open Mats is an unincorporated association at this time. The charity has gathered funds for the operation through three primary means. Firstly each of the three founding members have contributed their own funds to start a kitty. This money was used to pay for rash guards which are worn for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu uniforms. This lead to the second means of funding the operation of the charity which was the sale of these rash guards at a slight mark up in price. The third means in which the charity operations have been funded has been through a donations received from the Penrith Panthers Leagues Club. Charity size Triple Zero Open Mats is a small charity with an annual revenue of less than $10,000. Human Resources The charity does not have any paid employees, the three founders and members of the committee operate the charity without seeking financial compensation and volunteer their time of approximately two hours per fortnight arranging events, conducting administrative tasks, conducting events and operating social media accounts. Financial Report A bank statement for the account through which the charity operates is attached to this report. Any cash payments received for this charity are immediately banked either directly to this account or to another account and transferred. Operations The charity has conducted a total of eight (8) Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) style open mat events every six to eight weeks throughout 2024. Each event is hosted at a local BJJ gym and consisted of one and a half hours of grappling followed by a BBQ that is paid for by the charity. The average cost of running these events is $60. Each event has had between 20 and 50 persons attend to partake in the activities. Responsible persons The three responsible persons for this charity continue to be the founders and members of the committee. Benjamin CASHMERE, Talaiasi ALO and Albert TUIDIA Moving forward The intention of the committee is moving into 2025 to continue to operate events in the same fashion as in 2024. Funding to continue running the events will be sought from seeking donations from various organisations such as Penrith Panthers Leagues Club, IMB Bank and other organisations that regularly invest in charitable projects in the community. The aim is to be able to continue run events free of charge for attendees, be able to provide them with uniforms (rash guards and other apparel) especially for persons new to the sport to remove barriers to entry and to look at expanding the reach of the operations of the charity as awareness and interest in the events as measured by attendance and social media engagement continues to grow.
