About The Youth Development Foundation Limited
YDF's core purpose is to provide accessible quality training and employment pathway opportunities, specifically to assist disadvantaged youth and unemployed. YDF invests in young people to generate a return that changes the trajectory of young peoples lives to move them away from behaviors that caused them to be disengaged from school or involved in the criminal justice system. Some young people will return to school, some will exit detention, others will conclude their parole and probation, while others will take up employment and work. Our strongest motivator is continuously seeing the impact our organisation has on our community. Young people overcoming major barriers to employment, finding stable accommodation and living a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle; youth returning to school to gain the essential education they need; supplying struggling families with food, school packs, clothing, etc.; and more. Assisting over 80% of the young people engaged with YDF into employment is an outstanding achievement that continues to motivate and encourage our organisation to strive to do our best to service and assist our community. We strongly believe that although we cannot change the world we can change 1 person s world, one day at a time. YDF provides genuine opportunities for atrisk young people and their families to 'break the cycle'. The key to YDF programs is that every participant is supported to take a new direction and sustain positive change. Many of the young people YDF services come from a range of diverse backgrounds, each with their own stories and barriers. This could include homelessness, lack of education, intergenerational trauma, anxiety/depression, isolation, recently released from detention, medical conditions and disabilities, drug/alcohol/substance abuse, lack of support, lack of connection to community/culture, financial instability, lack of direction, and more.
