In 2024 The Younger Heroes (TYH) ran programs that helped families strengthen bonds and communication skills that may have been torn due to the high pressure and stress of the parents occupation such as military service. Through the program the families get to work as a family unit to gain better understanding and focus on having more positive outcomes through understanding and learnings from TYH program. TYH is a family relationship focused program, supporting participants (parents and their children) in connecting with their loved ones. This program is particularly relevant for individuals (parents) who may have experienced time away from their families as result of their employment (Military, Policing and other First Responders), or those individuals whose work experience/environments may have impacted their family connection or tempered their communication/relationship with their family (i.e., traumatic exposure, direct communication styles, hierarchical command structure etc.,). TYH program focuses on four core objectives: 1. Strengthening Family Bonds 2. Building Personal Resilience 3. Enhancing Communication 4. Encouraging Teamwork In addition to the four core objectives, TYH Program is a naturebased activity, which limits technological distractions (phone and computers) and facilitates physical activity and experiential learning opportunities. TYH Program is built upon sound psychological practices and principles in addition to the experiential learning processes and inclusion with nature.
