The York Society (incorporated)

To foster the preservation and restoration of buildings and settings of historical, architectural and aesthetic interest in the Shire of York; To encourage the study, writing and publication of the history of the area; To collect, classify and preserve records relating to the history of York and districts; To support any museum relevant to these objects; To promote and facilitate cultural activities in York; To facilitate the exchange of information through lectures, websites or other internet pages, exhibitions, readings and discussions relevant to these objects; To promote social gatherings which foster these objects. In pursuing these objectives The Society strives to work closely with other local organisations to promote the interests of the Town of York.
