The VHF is an independent charitable organisation with the sole mission to work in the area of homelessness in Victoria. The VHF aims not only to relieve homelessness but also to prevent homelessness by contributing housing stock where it is needed. A small committee of dedicated and passionate people, supported by the Housing Industry Association (HIA), offer volunteer and probono time to manage the work of the VHF. Our funding is sourced from donors large and small to support the construction of our houses. 100% of funds are used directly on our projects. Through the work of the VHF, longterm and transitional housing has been provided for an estimated 300 people, including group households and predominantly families, many with children fleeing domestic violence.
