The Trustee For The Western Cape Communities Trust

The charity was established in accordance with the Western Cape Communities CoExistence Agreement (WCCCA) which was signed in 2002. Under the WCCCA, royalty monies are paid by the mining company whose lease extends over the 11 traditional aboriginal owner clans' Country. These monies are held in trust by the charity and applied for the benefit of eligible members of the 11 traditional owner clans and the four associate Aboriginal community Councils. Financial distributions are available for eligible charitable purposes and include: Educational bursaries; Relief of poverty and needs arising from old age, sickness, disability or distress; Cultural advancement; Advancement of religion including traditional beliefs and customs; Protection of the environment; Community Development; and Other purposes beneficial to the Communities.
