About The TLR Foundation Limited

Recruiting Young and Diverse Stem Cell Donors The TLR Foundation is proud to be an official charity partner of Stem Cell Donors Australia to recruit new donors aged 1835. This year, our recruitment program became operational with inperson recruitment events for students at universities, such as the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales, as well as events for young professionals in corporate graduate programs in companies across Sydney. By using simple cheek swabs for registration, the process could not be easier. These efforts are helping ensure every patient has a better chance of finding a lifesaving match. Raising Awareness and Educating Future Donors TLR launched targeted video campaigns and social media advertising to address the widespread lack of awareness about stem cell donation. By demystifying the donation process and focusing on transparency, we are recruiting committed donors who understand the lifechanging impact they could have on someone with blood cancer. This approach continues to attract young, dedicated individuals to the registry and bring hope to patients in need. Supporting Cancer Nurses Through our fundraising efforts, we are proud to support cancer nurses through perpetual scholarships. Our first scholarship, the Trace Richey Nursing Scholarship at the University of Sydney, has already helped two nurses pursue their Master of Cancer & Haematology Nursing. In 2024, we made significant progress towards fully funding our second perpetual scholarship, the Allan Frenkel Nursing Scholarship, which will double our efforts to create a lasting legacy, helping generations of nurses become specialists in blood cancer care. Advancing Research into Graft vs Host Disease (GvHD) TLR continues to support the GvHD research group at the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (IHMRI) at the University of Wollongong. We provide research grants and share our personal experience with GvHD to help guide the team s work and assist with securing funding. This partnership underscores our commitment to improving outcomes for patients undergoing stem cell transplants.
