In respect of animal welfare RSPCA NSW inspectors investigate complaints against all kinds of animals in all kinds of situations and exercise powers under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (1979). Education is pivotal to RSPCA NSW s vision of preventing cruelty to animals. RSPCA NSW is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Code: 70238), and offers accredited and nonaccredited training to staff, members of the animal care industry and the general public on petrelated topics. RSPCA Vet Hospital and Care Centres provide essential care for domestic and wild animals at a reasonable cost. In addition to providing Vet care services to general public, RSPCA NSW Vet Clinics and Care Centres also provide services to animals in need of medical and rehabilitation either seized via Inspectorate Operations or surrendered at the RSPCA NSW shelters by owners or general public who are unable to look after the animals. RSPCA NSW Shelter cares for all animals brought into its care across the state. RSPCA Shelter across the state plays a pivotal role looking after the animals from the time they arrive in its facilities via various channels till they are rehomed. RSPCA NSW s Community Programs cover aged care, domestic violence, homelessness, youth and community, indigenous community animal health and community branches and volunteering through a variety of support and assistance with animal pet care and welfare for individuals or groups and families affected by hardship. Support provided by RSPCA NSW include financial assistance and temporary or emergency pet boarding.
