The Royal Institution of Naval Architects (Australian Division) Inc.

We continued our recognition of excellence in students by providing prizes to UTasAustralian Maritime College and UNSW Canberra. In addition to the conduct of regular technical presentations by our State Sections, we promoted the further education and professional development of naval architects by quarterly publication of our journal The Australian Naval Architect and making initial preparations for the biennial International Maritime Conference to be conducted with Engineers Australia and the Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology association with the IndoPacific Expo in Sydney in November 2025. We also participated in the organisation and conduct of the WARSHIP 2024 Conference conducted by our parent Institution (based in the United Kingdom) in Adelaide in June 2024. We also commenced a program of presentations to secondary schools to encourage students to study STEM subjects with a view to moving into tertiary study in naval architecture and (more broadly) maritime engineering.
