About The Observership Program Limited
The Program activates and upskills a select cohort of professionals aged 2540, providing them with training and practical experience in nonprofit board leadership and ongoing networking opportunities. More: https://www.observership.com.au/ Each Observer is paired with a participating nonprofit organisation for one calendar year from February to December. During their Observership year, Observers attend all board and/or sub committee meetings as nonvoting participants, observing the board at work and learning about the fundamental principles and functions of nonprofit boards, their decisionmaking processes, the role of board members and governance priorities. Simultaneously, Observers participate in a professional development program, developed and delivered in partnership with strategic partners, the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and The Ethics Centre. The program encompasses key subject areas essential for effective nonprofit governance and includes directors duties and responsibilities, finance, strategy and risk. As part of the professional development program, Observers have the opportunity to hear from a range of guest speakers with significant nonprofit and corporate board experience.
