The Melbourne Camera Club ran monthly photo competitions with consistent participation to allow participants to receive critical, independent feedback on their photographic work in extending their photographic education. The Melbourne Camera Club ran various outings attending photographic exhibitions, including Photowalk community, Midweek group, Conceptual group, and Nature outings that provided participants with an active and creative environment to discuss and provide practical handson photographic education. Exhibitions: A total of 7 exhibitions since the last AGM, including: Conceptual Photography Group and End of Year Exhibition in 2023. International Women's Day, So Latte, Nature Photography exhibition, Once Light Stand Romancing the darkness, and Analogue exhibition in 2024. Two more exhibitions are planned for 2024. Education: The Melbourne Camera Club ran two Introduction to Photography courses, which were oversubscribed, with 40 participants each. Lightroom basics course and Introduction to Lightroom course. Introduction to Film and Darkroom Basics course. Various workshops including: Film Noir & GatsbyInspired Portraits Body Sculpting & rear curtain sync Smartphone Photography Australian Wildlife The Art of Still Life Astro Landscape photography Mentorship program pairing seasoned photographers with newer members. The new member committee runs matcutting workshops and encourages participation in competitions and events.
