About The Jean Hailes Foundation

Jean Hailes for Women's Health is a national organisation dedicated to improving the health of women (a term that includes women, girls and genderdiverse people assigned female at birth) through every life stage. Our goal is to identify and meet the information needs of women and the education needs of health professionals to prevent, diagnose and manage or treat women's health issues that are often ignored. These issues include perimenopause and menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, anxiety, pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and disorders affecting the vulva, vagina, ovaries and uterus. In the community, we seek the views and experiences of a diverse range of Australian women to identify knowledge gaps and needs. We then convert clinical information and research into practical, accessible resources that inform and empower women to achieve and maintain good health and, if necessary, to know where and how to seek support and treatment. We recognise that health professionals play an important role in providing preventive care and treating disorders. Jean Hailes for Women's Health develops highlyregarded health professional training that draws on the very latest international research, and is informed by the data and experiences from our own specialist women's health clinics plus importantly the views and experiences we gather from Australian women. Our key activities are: Develop and produce practical, empowering health information that is accessible to diverse communities Develop and produce evidencebased health professional education and information resources Conduct the National Women's Health Survey and qualitative research to understand contemporary health concerns and how social determinants of health affect women Deliver national campaigns, including the national Women's Health Week, to raise awareness and normalise discussion of women's health issues Provide specialist clinical services in women's health (Victoria only)
