The Friends Of The State Opera Of Sa Inc

The Friends funded the State Opera Masterclass series in 2024 This series comprised 6 sessions and provided an opportunity for emerging artists to hone their craft as singers, actors and repetiteurs. Funds were also provided to State Opera SA to assist in the staging of the production of Lucia di Lammermoor. Finally, a young and emerging artist, Jessica Mills was successful in obtaining a professional development grant. This enabled her to represent Australia in the internationally renowned Lotte Lenya competition in New York. While in NY she took the opportunity to further her skills as a singer and performer with voice and acting coaching. The above achievements are in keeping with the objects of the Association, among these being the assistance and support of the State Opera of SA. Also to raise funds to support and sponsor the professional development of young artists associated with opera in South Australia.
