The Common People is set up to benefit people in need living in impoverished areas. The Common People Child Sponsorship Program aims to provide long term future for needy children living in remote villages in India by supporting and uplifting them. We have set up our arm in India, which works closely with children in need and their guardians on a daily basis. The area we have chosen in India has one of the highest child labour rates in the country. One of our primary focuses is to provide basic necessities in life like food and better shelter. We provide monthly grocery and food kits to children and families, so that they are well nourished and thereby taking the financial pressure off families to send their children to earn extra income. On top of this, we channel our resources to put these children back in school as well, to encourage their allround development and well being. We believe good nourishment, well being and guidance will help these children to have a bright future, which in turn will help their families and the community they live in.
