DRWA continues to support its Centre for Diabetes Research (CDR), specifically Professor Grant Morahan and his team based at the Harry Perkins Research Institute. Significant research outcomes have been achieved over many years and through CDR, DRWA has committed to support Professor Morahan s involvement in a new Federal Government sponsored national research centre known as the Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations (ACADI). CDR has committed up to $250,000 for the validation and extension of a genetic test that identifies those living with type 1 diabetes.
