About The Australasian Society for Physical Activity LTD
The Society has made remarkable strides in promoting physical activity and health throughout the AsiaPacific region. Over the past year, ASPA has hosted a range of impactful events in inperson, online, and hybrid formats, fostering collaboration and innovation. Notable activities include the International Symposium on Physical Activity and Health, engaging professionals across Asia and beyond, and the Early Careers Research Showcase, highlighting emerging leaders in the field. ASPA has strengthened its advocacy efforts through initiatives like the Call to Action framework, aimed at influencing physical activity policy leading up to the 2025 Australian Federal election. Additionally, our committees, including the Early Career Network and Special Interest Groups, have delivered groundbreaking programs, such as training modules for scaling interventions and webinars addressing physical literacy and healthcare practices. Our commitment to advancing physical activity knowledge has been reflected in increased engagement across digital platforms, the launch of a podcast, and the establishment of a new SIG focused on Physical Activity Policies and Environments. We continue to expand membership, with active members from diverse regions, representing academia, government, and the community. These achievements are underscored by ongoing financial stability, allowing ASPA to grow and sustain its mission of integrating evidencebased practices into policies for healthier and more sustainable communities.
