About The Asbestos Diseases Research Foundation

The Asbestos Diseases Research Foundation (ADRF) governs the Asbestos and Dust Diseases Research Institute (ADDRI), a disease specific medical research institute focused on biomedical (preclinical), clinical and public health research into asbestos and dust related diseases. ADDRI is a WHO Collaborating Centre for Elimination of Asbestos Related Diseases (AUS152). ADDRI's scientific research team has built up a formidable record improving the understanding of asbestos and dust diseases, particularly mesothelioma, and has developed groundbreaking treatment techniques. ADDRI works with medical specialists and health services globally; ADDRI's development of a best practice diagnostic framework ensures effective prevention, earlier detection, and better treatments. Our Mesothelioma Support Coordinators (MSC) support people diagnosed with mesothelioma, their families and the bereaved, helping them through this very difficult time. The MSC s run education days both in metropolitan and regional areas with a view of meeting the unmet needs of mesothelioma patients and their families. ADDRI contributes to the assessment of the global burden of asbestos and dust related diseases and the promotion of banning asbestos in developing countries.
