Completed Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Project No.1 ($92,283.00) works on the Community Bushfire Defence & Response Facility with installation of a solar power system, ember attack sprinkler system, shed extenssion for toilet, first aid equipment storage and multi function room, and purchase of addiditional fire fighting equipment and associated manual handling and maintenance equipment. * No.2 BSBR grant for $209,195.00 for installation of a Telstra Small Cell Base Station is progressing with a 10 year lease finalised with DEECA and Telstra and construction and commissioning scheduled for first quarter 2025. Use of Kioti Cab tractor and Hayes flail mower to reduce fuel load around Fireguard shed and private property's continues. Working with Parks Vic on the installation of a floating jetty to enhance emergency evacuation by boat during wild fire emergency. Working with Fire to Flourish to provide a metal Lyrebird Sculpture as a heart felt thanks to the agencies and community for the recovery effort after the Black Summer Bushfires and remind us of the community resilience whilst celebrating the ongoing recovery of people, flora and fauna. Metal sculpture purchased and working with EGSC to have concrete slab poured at Cann River community centre and sculpture installed. Carried out Fire Awarness and Prepardness training with CFA educator, followed by community BBQ.
